The Travel Manitoba Award
of Distinction was established
to recognize the exceptional leadership Manitoba is fortunate enough to have in creating and fostering our distinction as a high quality tourism destination.

Taken from the Travel MB award's ceremony:

"Our second finalist is actually a dynamic duo - Barbara Hamilton & Craig Christie – they are Falcon Trails Resort at Falcon Lake in the beautiful Whiteshell."

No stranger to the Manitoba Tourism Awards stage, this tourism team is committed to the development of tourism. They operate 9 timber-frame-style, all-season, lakefront, private rental cabins with hot tubs, a lakefront conference centre, 3 European style suites, a log sauna, and 2 eco-friendly waterfront cabins on remote High Lake. But wait, that’s not all, add the Falcon Ridge Ski and Recreation Area, with facilities for snowboarding, downhill skiing and 22 km of cross-country skiing trails. And, no, I’m not done yet – they host wellness programs and retreats and are industry leaders in sustainable practices with solar power, recycling, composting, biodegradable products and the composting toilets of the eco-chalets.

Partnership is second nature to them as they work with a variety of local schools, sport associations, restaurants and other tourism providers, which has helped Falcon Trails achieve occupancy rates from 90-100% throughout the summer months.

Caped crusaders? Perhaps not, but definitely a dynamic duo."

Falcon Trails has also been nominated for two Tourism Industry Association National Awards: Business of the Year and Sustainable Tourism!
