In the blink of an eye the summer is winding down- and the changing of season can mean only one thing... that the date for Swamp Donkey is getting closer!

What's a Swamp Donkey? "Unleash your spirit for adventure on Sept. 22 / 2012. Teams of three will race on an unmarked course using a map and compass to locate checkpoints in the wilderness of Manitoba. Last year the fun and challenging race "sold out" with 250 participants/ 75 teams competing in the breathtaking backdrop of Falcon Lake.

Teams will be trekking through the woods, paddling pristine waterways and mountain biking the trails in an attempt to be the fastest team to reach all of the checkpoints before the 9-hour cut off. The fastest team to the finish line wins!

This is a non-stop 6-9 hour event that tests the skills and physical abilities of teams. Disciplines include: mountain biking, canoeing, trekking, navigation, teamwork and special tasks. No special training required, just a will to finish."

Go to the Swamp Donkey website to learn more

And for those of you still looking for accomodation, we've just had two cancellations (Sunset and Tamarack cabins on Falcon Lake) for the Swamp Donkey weekend (September 21/22), so Contact us for more info!

Whether about the times we live in, its past or its future promise, Brooks' songs are underscored throughout by his gently weather-beaten voice, the singular beautiful sound of hand on guitar, and his uncanny ability to press his ear against the heartbeat and the soul of the times we live in- transforming, inspiring and uplifting us as we bear witness.
